Wie füge ich ein Buch hinzu?

Tippe auf das „+“ und scanne den ISBN-Barcode auf der Buchrückseite – Titel, Autor, Cover und Beschreibung werden automatisch geladen. Du kannst Bücher auch manuell anlegen.

Ein Cover oder eine Angabe fehlt – was tun?

Nicht jedes Buch ist in allen Datenbanken erfasst. Du kannst Cover, Titel, Beschreibung und alle weiteren Felder jederzeit in der Detailansicht selbst bearbeiten.

Werden meine Daten gesichert?

Deine Bibliothek wird lokal auf deinem Gerät gespeichert und ist in deinem iPhone-Backup (iCloud-Backup oder Finder/iTunes) enthalten. Über „Einstellungen → Daten-Export“ kannst du deine Bücher zusätzlich als CSV oder PDF exportieren.

BookSafe ist so gebaut, dass deine Daten dir gehören. Es gibt kein Nutzerkonto, keine Registrierung, keine Werbung und kein Tracking.

Welche Daten verarbeitet die App?

• Deine Bibliothek (Bücher, Bewertungen, Notizen, Lesefortschritt, Lesesitzungen) wird ausschließlich lokal auf deinem Gerät gespeichert. Wir haben keinen Zugriff darauf.
• Kamera: Beim ISBN-Scan wird die Kamera nur zum Erkennen des Barcodes genutzt. Es werden keine Bilder gespeichert oder übertragen.
• Fotos: Wenn du selbst ein Cover aus deiner Fotomediathek auswählst, wird nur dieses eine Bild in die App übernommen.
• Mitteilungen: Erscheinungs-Erinnerungen werden lokal auf deinem Gerät geplant.

Netzwerkverbindungen

Wenn du eine ISBN scannst oder ein Buch suchst, ruft die App öffentlich verfügbare Buch-Metadaten (Titel, Autor, Cover, Beschreibung) von Drittanbietern ab. Dabei wird ausschließlich die jeweilige ISBN übertragen – keine persönlichen Daten. Genutzte Dienste können u. a. sein: Deutsche Nationalbibliothek, Open Library, Google Books, Apple iTunes, lobid (hbz) sowie Online-Buchhändler. Für deren Datenverarbeitung gelten die jeweiligen Datenschutzbestimmungen.

• Keine Nutzerkonten

Kinder

Die App sammelt keine personenbezogenen Daten und ist für alle Altersgruppen geeignet.

How do I add a book?

Tap “+” and scan the ISBN barcode on the back of the book — title, author, cover, and description are loaded automatically. You can also add books manually.

A cover or detail is missing — what can I do?

Not every book is listed in all databases. You can edit the cover, title, description, and every other field yourself at any time in the detail view.

Is my data backed up?

Your library is stored locally on your device and is included in your iPhone backup (iCloud backup or Finder/iTunes). Via “Settings → Data Export” you can additionally export your books as CSV or PDF.

BookSafe is built so that your data belongs to you. There is no user account, no sign-up, no advertising, and no tracking.

What data does the app process?

• Your library (books, ratings, notes, reading progress, reading sessions) is stored solely on your device. We have no access to it.
• Camera: During an ISBN scan, the camera is used only to detect the barcode. No images are stored or transmitted.
• Photos: If you choose a cover from your photo library, only that single image is imported into the app.
• Notifications: Release reminders are scheduled locally on your device.

Network connections

When you scan an ISBN or search for a book, the app fetches publicly available book metadata (title, author, cover, description) from third-party providers. Only the relevant ISBN is transmitted — no personal data. Services used may include the German National Library, Open Library, Google Books, Apple iTunes, lobid (hbz), and online booksellers. Their respective privacy policies apply to their data processing.

What we do NOT do

• No analytics or tracking services
• No sharing or selling of data
• No advertising networks
• No user accounts

Children

The app collects no personal data and is suitable for all ages.
